Want To Make Life and Business Easier? Focus on Simplicity
As humans we tend to complicate things. More steps, more activity, more doing. We can make a seemingly simple task or process more complicated when we add extra elements or unnecessary steps rather than keeping things simple. When things are complicated our attention and energy can be all over the place, getting diverted to unnecessary steps rather than keeping our attention and energy on what’s most important.
If you find yourself completing business tasks on autopilot and not really thinking about the process because that is the way you have always done it, I invite you to get curious.
Think about a social media task you do regularly. When was the last time you stopped to evaluate how you complete the task? Consider the steps you take to complete the task. Are all the steps necessary? Can you remove a step? Or, make a step simpler by changing the way you approach it. Perhaps there is a way you can do the social media tasks differently or ask someone else to do it without compromising your results.
Often times, we focus on doing more to achieve an outcome when the answer is to slow down.
For example, if you intentionally focused your energy, attention and time on one or two social media platforms rather than five, chances are you would create simplicity, streamline processes and have the opportunity to connect more deeply with your audience.
You don’t have to do more to achieve success.
This week I invite you to look at your social media activity to see how you can simplify it. How can you create simplicity?
